Duke University researchers have found that several factors appear to significantly predict cognitive recovery following cardiac surgery. These included:
More patient education.
Baseline cognitive index.
Less CI decline at 6 weeks.
More activities of daily living (ADLs) at 6 weeks.
The research team suggests that the link between cognitive recovery and ADLs be explored further because it was a potentially modifiable predictor.…
