Aspirin Lowers Mortality in Pneumonia Patients

Chronic aspirin use appears to lower 30-day mortality among patients hospitalized with pneumonia, according to Italian researchers. Aspirin users also had lower rates of nonfatal cardiovascular events. Non-aspirin users had a mortality hazard ratio of 2.07 when compared with aspirin users.
