Brain Changes in COPD Patients

European research indicates that patients with COPD appear to demonstrate gray matter decreases in areas of the brain that are relevant for the processing of dyspnea, fear, and anti-nociception. The observed changes were related in part to longer disease duration and greater disease-specific fears, according to the authors.
