Coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) under epidural anesthesia is demonstrated in this video. Patient remains concious during the surgery. Valve replacements and other open heart procedures are also done routinely without giving general anesthesia. This method avoids postoperative ventilation and gives adequate analgesia in postoperative period with stable hemodynamics.
