About 10% of patients who are eligible to receive cardiac rehabilitation (CR) at discharge following hospitalization for heart failure actually follow through with CR, according to a large study. The authors reported that a significant increase in CR referral rates was observed between 2005 and 2014. However, additional strategies are needed to improve physician and patient awareness of the benefits of CR in order to increase CR referral among heart failure patients.
