Swedish research indicates that half of women aged 20 to 70 have obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). Severe OSA was recorded in 14% of women aged 55 to 70 and 31% of those with a BMI greater than 30 kg/m2. OSA was related to age, obesity, and hypertension but not daytime sleepiness in the investigation.
