According to CDC research conducted between 2000 and 2010, the percentage of adults whose healthcare providers recommended exercise or physical activity increased from 21.0% to 30.3% in men and from 23.9% to 34.1% in women. Among those aged 85 and older, the percentage receiving such advice nearly doubled, increasing from 15.3% in 2000 to 28.9% in 2010.
