Fasting triglyceride levels appear to help predict long- and short-term cardiovascular risk among patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) who are treated with statins, according to a study. When compared with ACS patients with the lowest triglyceride levels, those with the highest levels had a hazard ratio of 1.61 for experiencing long-term cardiovascular risks.
