Results from a survey by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration estimate that the number of people aged 12 and older who had used prescription-type psychotherapeutic drugs for non-medical purposes  in the month before being being surveyed had declined from 7.0 million in 2010 to 6.1 million in 2011. Among those aged 18 to 25, current non-medical use of prescription-type drugs was lower in 2011 than during 2003 to 2010. The survey is available at www.samhsa.gov.
