A guided, web-based intervention appears to be effective in reducing both depressive symptoms and diabetes-specific emotional distress in adults with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, according to European research. The intervention, which involved patients receiving guided self-help from the GET.ON Mood Enhancer Diabetes program, appeared to be acceptable as 95% of participants reporting that they would recommend it to a friend with diabetes in need of psychological help.
