Running After Hip Resurfacing

French research suggests that running is possible for patients after they undergo hip resurfacing arthroplasty, with some runners returning to varying levels of competition postoperatively. Among participants who ran prior to resurfacing, 91.6% resumed running, with an average recovery time of 16.4 weeks to reach a level that was deemed “good” by patients. The amount of time devoted to running at last follow-up remained high (3.1 hours/week) and was not statistically significantly different from preoperative amounts.
