Upon completion of the educational activity, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss how to make pain management goals and a treatment plan through an understanding of the patient’s baseline measurements and by being a great coach, motivator, mentor, and teacher.
  • Review the importance of team work in providing optimal pain management, including the need to include the patient on that team;
  • Describe the differences between patients with hyperalgia, opioid tolerance, or for whom opioids are simply ineffective;
  • Explain various treatment options for chronic pain and opioid addiction.

Statements of credit will be awarded based on the participant reviewing video, correctly answering 7 out of 10 questions on the post test, and completing and submitting an activity evaluation.  A statement of credit will be available upon completion of an online evaluation/claimed credit form available at akhinc.formstack.com/forms/zdoggmd_e2. You must participate in the entire activity to receive credit.
