Findings from a small investigation indicate that weight loss among obese adults with asthma appears to improve symptom severity, airway hyper-responsiveness, and disease control. It also appears to improve lung function and quality of life. Patients involved in the study who followed a behavioral weight reduction program for 3 months fared better than a group of matched control patients.
