The incidence of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) appears to be higher than previously reported, according to a retrospective study. The overall OHCA incidence was 2.28 cases per 100,000 person-years between 1980 and 2009. The overall survival rate was 26.9%, but survival increased from 13.0% in 1980 to 40.2% in 2009.
