Comparing Options for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Spanish research suggests that a local steroid injection and surgical decompression both appear to effectively alleviate symptoms of primary carpal tunnel syndrome. When assessed at 2-years follow-up, 60% of patients who underwent injection achieved a 20% response for nocturnal paresthesias, compared with 69% for those who underwent surgery.
