Reducing Cesarean Section Births


A research review from the AHRQ suggests that few studies have explored strategies for reducing cesarean births in low-risk women. Available at, the review notes that no single strategy was found to be uniformly successful in reducing cesarean rates.

  1. 1. Return to internal fetal monitoring for contractions in order to stop diagnosis of arrest of labor before labor has actually begun. i.e. 6 cm. 2. Stop rushing to OR for non-reassuring fetal heart documented as type 2 changes.
