A Korean research team suggests that early aortic valve replacement (AVR) and watchful observation appear to have similar survival rates in symptomatic patients with normal flow, low-gradient severe aortic stenosis and preserved left ventricular ejection fraction. The study authors recommend that watchful observation with timely performance of AVR be considered a therapeutic option for this patient population.
