The physical and mental symptoms of fibromyalgia (FM) syndrome include pain, tiredness, and sleep issues. The mental symptoms include sadness, mental weariness, and a sense of hopelessness. Problem-oriented, emotion-oriented, and avoidance were the 3 primary coping mechanisms employed by FM patients who reside in communities in the Gaza Envelope that are constantly threatened by armed conflict.

The research presented an innovative intervention program that was based on a fibrotherapy intervention (FTI) program created at the Rehabilitation Center “Ezra Le’Marpeh” under the direction of Rabbi Avraham Elimelech Firer. Ninety-six women who have been given an FM diagnosis and have taken part in the FTI program for 10 weeks make up the cohort study sample. In the study, 16 selected women were interviewed using a combination of quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The study also employed the Brief Cope questionnaire to gather medical and demographic data.

The results supported the theory and demonstrated a change in FM patients’ coping strategies before and after the intervention.

The FTI program’s sharing of experiences might encourage FM patients to adopt healthy illness management techniques, thus enhancing their quality of life.
