Researchers in Boston indicate that more than one-third of older adult ED fall patients appear to revisit the ED revisit within 1 year and are at greater risk of death. Among patients who were an average age of 78.6 years old, ED revisit rates increased from 2% at 3 days to 25% at 1 year. Death rates increased from about 1% at 3 days to 15% at 1 year. More than 50% of patients revisited the during the 7-year study.
