This study is to investigate the causes and diagnosis of esophageal perforation during the time of diagnosis of any spine diseases. The study includes seven patients who were classified into 3 e main groups that are based on esophageal perforation: intraoperative, perioperative, and delayed groups. The intraoperative group of patients is being organized during the surgery. A pre-operative group of patients was diagnosed within 30 days of the surgery. And the delete group of patients was diagnosed after 30 days of surgery. In the first group spondylitis was the main cause for esophageal perforation. In the second group, the patient had to undergo a revision surgery as the metal failure was the main cause for esophageal perforation. And the third group that is the delete group, the main cause of esophageal perforation was the chronic irritation caused by metal failure.

Therefore, the study concludes that the main cause of esophageal perforation is different in three different time periods of the surgery. Therefore diagnosing in proper time is going to be the main factor for Esophageal Perforation after cervical spine surgery. However, this research needs further studies with more patients into three different groups and observe them properly for better results.
