A small German investigation has found that preprocedural PCI in patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) appears to be both feasible and safe. When compared with isolated TAVI, PCI plus TAVI resulted in decreased mortality rates. Both treatment strategies had similar rates of 30-day stroke, major bleeding, major vascular complications, and adverse events at 6 months.
