Leg length discrepancy for LLD is one of the common orthopedic problems resulting in standing in balance and low back pain. Sometimes it causes structural changes in the spine but the proper effect of leg length discrepancy on scoliosis is still. The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of LLD on scoliosis in children. Selecting around 23 children with leg length discrepancy of greater than equal to 20 millimeters as the main subjects of the study. These children were under treatment in the hospital from 2007 to 2017. The data of the radiographs of the spine, as well as the lower limb, has been recorded in order to see the change. The researchers have also selected the children with both left leg and right leg length discrepancies to get the exact and detailed outcome.
As a result, it has been observed that children with an LLD of greater than equal to 30 mm may develop severe scoliosis. This pediatric condition has a high possibility to affect the spine. Although father and long-term studies are required for the resolution for this. Long term studies will provide more data to the researchers to compare more outcomes and help them to come to a decision.
