The National Lipid Association Scientific Sessions 2025 include a focus on severe hypercholesterolemia, including a highlight on familial hypercholesterolemia.
The National Lipid Association (NLA) Scientific Sessions 2025 take place from May 29 through June 1 in Miami. This year, there is a focus on severe hypercholesterolemia.
In addition to highlighting familial hypercholesterolemia during a session on NLA publications, an entire session on Saturday focuses on the topic.
Session on Hypercholesterolemia
Simply titled “Severe Hypercholesterolemia,” this presentation features three speakers.
First, Maya S. Safarova, MD, PhD, will give a presentation titled “Monogenic Familial Hypercholesterolemia; Historical Perspective and Current Directions.”
Following that presentation, Daniel E. Soffer, MD, will lead a discussion that asks a question: “What Is It If It’s Not [Familial Hypercholesterolemia]?”
The session concludes with the presentation “Ketogenic Diet-induced Hypercholesterolemia: Known Unknowns and Unknown Knowns.” This will be led by Max Petersen, MD, PhD.
The Severe Hypercholesterolemia session will begin with a pre-session assessment and conclude with a post-session assessment and a Q&A session.
