An NLA Session on lifestyle and nutrition included three presentations on cardiometabolic health and dietary macronutrients.
The National Lipid Association (NLA) Scientific Sessions 2025 took place from May 29 through June 1 in Miami. The agenda included educational sessions on multiple topics, as well as symposia and lectureships.
In addition to a focus on severe hypercholesterolemia, another highlight of the NLA Scientific Sessions this year included a full session dedicated to lifestyle and nutrition. The session featured three presentations, all of which aimed to provide relevant information clinicians can share with their patients back in the clinic.
The first discussion in this session was titled “Optimal Diet for Cardiometabolic Health,” led by Ada Cuevas, MD, MSc.
Following the presentation from Dr. Cuevas, Kevin Hall, PhD, delivered the presentation titled “How Ultra Processed Food System Causes Cardiometabolic Disease.”
The last final presentation in the session on lifestyle and nutrition was titled, “Dietary Macronutrient Profile- How Important Is It?” That was led by Alice H. Lichtenstein, DSc, MS.
The session focusing on lifestyle and nutrition took place on Saturday, May 31. It also included a pre-session assessment, a Q&A panel, and a post-session assessment. Beth Jackson, MSN, was scheduled to lead the pre-session assessment.
