A study from researchers at the CDC has found that the prevalence of obesity did not appear to change significantly in 2009-2010 when compared with data from 2003-2008. The rates of obesity in adult men and women were 35.5% and 35.8%, respectively, in 2009-2010, and the age-adjusted BMI was 28.7 kg/m2 for both genders in the same time period. The analysis revealed, however, that there were statistically significant increases in obesity among African-American and Mexican-American women between 1999 and 2010.
