Statin Use May Reduce Parkinson’s Risk


A small prospective analysis suggests that statin use appears to modestly reduce the risk of Parkinson’s disease (PD). Researchers in Boston found that the relative risk of PD among statin users was 0.74 when compared with nonusers. The findings, however, warrant further study.
