Trends in Death From Unintentional Injuries

Mortality data from 2000 to 2009 indicate that the annual rate of unintentional injury deaths is declining, but these injuries remain the leading cause of death among those aged 1 to 19. Annual rates dropped 29% during the study period, decreasing among all age groups except those aged 1 and younger.
