The amount of resources used for ED visits with syncope appears to have increased in recent years despite substantial efforts to optimize this utilization, according to a study. Between 2001 and 2010, admission rates ranged from 27% to 35%. The analysis showed no significant downward trend during the study period. Advanced imaging rates increased from about 21% to 45% during the study.
