Immediate Reconstruction After Mastectomy | News Brief

The rate of immediate reconstruction (IR) use for women with breast cancer who undergo mastectomy appears to have increased significantly between 2000 and 2010, according to a large analysis. Several modifiable factors strongly predicted IR use, including insurance status, hospital size, hospital location, and physician volume.

While several aspects of therapy for patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs) have remained unchanged for several decades, new therapeutic options have emerged within the past 5 years, particularly targeted agents.
