Psoriasis of the vaginal area affects up to two-thirds of psoriasis sufferers yet is frequently neglected by doctors. Furthermore, objective and subjective psoriasis severity indices for typical plaque psoriasis sometimes overlook the impact this little region of psoriasis might have on a patient. Due to invasive physical symptoms such as genital itch and discomfort, it can have a major influence on patients’ psychological function, as well as a negative impact on sexual health and compromised relationships.
