Primary care providers appear to under-diagnose obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in patients with type 2 diabetes, according to findings from a retrospective review of primary care office visits. Previous research has suggested that the OSA prevalence among patients with type 2 diabetes was 54% to 94%, but the study showed that only 16% of these individuals received a diagnosis of OSA.
