The spinal elements of the Indian athletes come on to everyone and it is bound to increase due to the growth of popularity in the sports. The athletes always try to make a rapid recovery and come back to participation in their sports. However, the process of diagnosis and surgical treatments of the athletes are different than the normal people in terms of any spinal disorders. The study was made by analyzing the data of 10 top most athletes who have gone through spinal surgery. In these cases, most of the time the patient needed to go through the lumbar spine or cervical spine surgery. The measurement of outcomes was investigated based on the return to training and return to sports criteria. These two parameters were set as per the time after the surgery. Amongst patients to wear female and the rest were male. The average age of the patients at the time of surgery was around 32.4 years. The study says all the patients were returned to their sports activities within the range of 3 to 12 weeks.

Therefore, the study concludes that spine surgery of the sportsperson is safer and more effective. The athlete should also need to be completely symptom-free before joining the training for returning to the sports.
