Predicting Discharge to Post-Acute Care


A study has found that conducting individualized risk assessments of discharge to post-acute care can be predicted with excellent accuracy among surgical patients. Significant predictors of discharge to post-acute care included age 85 or older, septic shock, ventilator dependence, an American Society of Anesthesiologist class of 4 or 5, and totally dependent functional status.
