The relationship between psoriasis and suicidality is still unclear and understudied. The study’s goal was to determine the risk of suicidal conduct in psoriasis patients. Researchers conducted a countrywide retrospective cohort research using Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Research Database to evaluate the likelihood of suicidal behaviour among psoriasis patients. Subgroup analyses were done depending on the severity of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. There were 169,909 psoriasis patients and 169,909 non psoriasis controls in the study. Suicidal conduct was seen in 104 and 89 participants, respectively, in the psoriasis group and non psoriasis controls; they discovered no substantially elevated risk of suicidal behaviour among psoriasis patients when compared to non psoriasis controls. When compared to non psoriasis controls, the subgroup analysis revealed no substantially elevated risk for suicidal conduct in either the severe or moderate psoriasis groups. In addition, when comparing psoriasis patients who also had psoriatic arthritis to non psoriasis controls, they observed no significant elevated risk for suicidal conduct in the psoriasis patients who also had psoriatic arthritis or in the psoriasis patients who just had psoriasis. In a Taiwanese study, no link was found between psoriasis or psoriatic arthritis and suicidal behaviour.
