For a study, researchers sought to investigate the impact of the Yoga of Immortals (YOI) intervention on individuals with all forms of UI. For overall well-being, many people practice YOI, which combines particular yoga postures, breathing techniques, sound therapy, and meditation.

A survey was distributed to the YOI app members as part of this app-based cohort research. The ICIQ-UI-SF (for mean symptom score & severity of UI) and the ICIQ-LUTS-QOL (for the impact of UI on QOL) Questionnaires were delivered to participants who identified with UI and gave their assent at baseline, 4, and 8 weeks. Using the PGI-I scale, the overall perception of progress was evaluated.

A total of 258/422 participants (18-74 years old) were included, and their mean scores on the ICIQ-UI-SF  (4.06 ± 0.24 at baseline; 2.90 ± 0.22 at 4-weeks [P ≤ 0.001] and 3.44 ± 0.23 at 8 weeks [P ≤ 0.001]) and ICIQ-LUTS-QOL (28.36± 0.74 at baseline; 24.46± 0.70 at 4-weeks [P≤0.001] and 25.78± 0.70 at 8 weeks [P≤ 0.001]) significantly decreased with time. The mean scores on the ICIQ-LUTS-QOL significantly decreased for the 55–60 year subgroup as well (25.06±1.20 at baseline; 21.69±1.07 at 4 weeks [P≤0.01]; and 22.28±0.96 at 8 weeks [P≤0.01]).

The frequency and severity of urine leaks, daily activity, and mean scores on the ICIQ-LUTS-QOL and ICIQ-UI-SF were significantly improved as a result of the YOI intervention. On the PGI scale, the majority of participants said they felt “very lot better.” Due to the fact that it is app-based, it also has the added benefit of being portable.
