Sheila Egbert, Director of Diabetes Education at Springhill Medical Center in Mobile, AL, was the lucky winner of an iPad3 in our 2012 e-survey of U.S. diabetes clinics.

“I was so surprised to learn that I won the iPad! I could not believe my good fortune,” Sheila gushed. “I really enjoyed using it during my recent vacation. Now that I am back at work I am discovering how useful the iPad will be for us both in the office, and when we are providing diabetes education in other work settings.”

Sheila has been employed at Springhill Medical Center for the past 24 years. For most of this time she has overseen both inpatient and outpatient diabetes education programs.  Sheila says the education center’s current focus is prevention. The staff has developed a prediabetes education program, which is being offered to area physician practices.

Sheila has been married to husband Ned for 16 years, and they have a 15-year-old daughter, Christina, as well as four grandchildren. Her family enjoys spending time boating at their river home.

Congratulations, Sheila! We hope you enjoy your new iPad3!
